As a vital member of SNE’s delivery team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing outstanding learner-focused projects. We are looking for an experienced Tutor to join the team to deliver Nail and Beauty qualifications between levels 1 and 3 across the North East.

You will be a consummate professional, passionate about people development, and focused on delivering a high-quality service to our learners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To effectively initial assess learners to measure existing vocational skills prior to delivery
  • Set clear goals and targets to create a plan tailored to individuals’ needs
  • Assess learner performance across a range of tasks to ensure that the evidence submitted by the learner meets the assessment criteria
  • Ensure learners produce work of a high standard and develop their skills and knowledge well
  • Classroom delivery must be a minimum standard of Ofsted grade ‘Good’
  • Ensure all appropriate paperwork is completed to validate learner attendance and progression on programme
  • Deliver information, advice and guidance to learners that appropriately prepares them for the next stage of their career
  • Support and maintain the quality assurance process for assessment, training and verification purposes, in line with Skill North East’s policies and all related Awarding Body procedures and guidelines
  • Embed and contextualise Functional Skills throughout the learners’ programme
  • Complete timely learner progress reviews and set SMART targets to ensure timely achievement
  • Embed Safeguarding, Prevent, British Values, Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety throughout the learner’s programme
  • Maintain CPD
  • Attend standardisation meetings and support continuous improvement

Essential Criteria

  • Hold a minimum of a level 4 teaching qualification
  • Hold an A1 Assessor award (or equivalent)
  • Hold a level 3 qualification in Nail Technology initially, other qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Have at least 2 years’ occupational competence
  • At least 12 months’ classroom delivery experience
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to motivate and encourage
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel if required
