Location: Newburn
Salary: Apprentice Wage (following national apprenticeship guidelines)
Working Hours: Full-time (exact hours to be confirmed)
Duration: 12 months
Reports to: Finance Manager / Senior Accountant

Overview
Weโ€™re excited to invite a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Accounts/Finance Assistant! ๐ŸŽ‰ This apprenticeship is a fantastic chance to gain hands-on experience in our dynamic finance department while working towards your Level 2 AAT Certificate in Accounting. Youโ€™ll play a vital role in supporting our finance team and ensuring our financial operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
โœจ Processing Financial Transactions: Help us process invoices, payments, receipts, and expenses accurately and efficiently.
๐Ÿ“ Data Entry: Keep our financial records up-to-date by entering all data accurately into our accounting software.
๐Ÿฆ Bank Reconciliations: Assist in reconciling bank statements and help identify and resolve any discrepancies.
๐Ÿ’ผ Accounts Receivable & Payable: Support our ledgers by managing supplier and customer queries related to payments and invoices.
๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ’ผ Payroll Support: Assist the payroll team with processing employee wages and ensuring records are correct and current.
๐Ÿ“Š VAT Returns: Help prepare and submit VAT returns, staying compliant with HMRC regulations.
๐Ÿ“ˆ Financial Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports for our stakeholders.
๐Ÿ” Audit Preparation: Ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and ready for audits, both internal and external.
๐Ÿ“‚ Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including filing, scanning, and responding to inquiries.

๐Ÿ’ป IT Proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and other financial software.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to interact professionally with colleagues and stakeholders.

๐Ÿš€ Motivation: Self-driven with a passion for learning and developing new skills in finance.

Entry Requirements
๐ŸŽ“ Minimum of 5 GCSEs in grades 9-4 (A*-C), including Mathematics and English, or equivalent qualifications.
๐Ÿ’ก A genuine interest in accounting and finance.
๐Ÿ’ป Good working knowledge of basic IT tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

Training & Development
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will complete the Level 2 AAT Certificate in Accounting (version 5.2). This will include a mix of on-the-job training and off-the-job study, covering essential topics like accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, VAT returns, and financial reporting.
