By completing the unit, the learner will be able to understand:

The principles of nutrition and their application to exercise and health - Unit 7

By completing the unit, the learner will:

  • understand how to access credible information about nutrition for exercise and health
  • gain knowledge of common nutritional terms related to exercise and health
  • have learnt the nutrients required to maintain health
  • understand how nutrients from food are used to fuel and recover from physical activity
  • recognise how to estimate daily energy and nutrient requirements for clients with different goals
  • know the risks of poor nutritional and lifestyle practices

By completing the unit, the learner will be able to understand:

Whether you qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan depends on your: course, age and nationality or residency status.

  • You must be 19 or older on the first day of your course
  • Be living in the UK on the first day of your course
  • Have been living in the UK, the Channel Islands or Isle of Man for 3 years before starting your course
  • Be a UK national or have ‘settled status’ (this means there are no restrictions on how long you can stay)
