Our 10th year Anniversary

Words of wisdom from our Managing Director Michael Winship

As you all know we passed our 10th anniversary in March, something I’m very proud of. Thanks to each and every member of staff and client, present and past, for their efforts in getting us to this milestone.

Over the last 10 years, a lot has changed, basically, everything has changed. From our offices to funding rules, awarding bodies, priorities, projects we have worked on, staff and importantly my attitude to Skills North East. In truth SNE was not meant to be my main company, however, over the years I started to see the massive difference we could make to a lot of people’s lives. SNE has created well over 2 million pounds plus worth of salaries, predominantly across the North of England a fact that I am rather proud of.

What is better than working with a person and helping them get a job, a job that can literally change their lives, giving them a salary and a better quality of life.

Michael Winship | Managing Director, SNE

A fact that reignites my passion for SNE daily, and has made SNE my main company and focus in my business life.

Over the years we have thrived and or survived, changed from a sub-contractor to a prime with all the challenges that bring; Ofsted, EFSA reports etc. 2019 – 2020 is shaping up to be our best year yet, from terms of turnover and importantly quality.

We have some very exciting new ventures, we are looking to open a Digital Centre in Newcastle for a rejuvenated Apprenticeship division, developing our Sports & Well-being division – both moving forward with contracts at solicitors for buildings etc. so watch this space.

Michael Winship | Managing Director, SNE

In every successful company, the most important entity is your staff. Staff need to be driven, hard working and determined and above all ready to improve and go the extra mile. I feel we have that in the staff – if you want to rise to challenges ahead, this is going to be a great time to be part of SNE.

I’m sure there will be bumps along the way, but hey we’ve been through enough to dust ourselves off and get back on track –my vision is clear, we will not be knocked off course – roll on the next 10 years.
