Skills North East Signs Pledge to ‘Get the Nation Learning’

Skills North East is proud to announce that we have signed the pledge to support the Learning and Work Institute‘s national campaign to Get the Nation Learning. This initiative promotes the value of lifelong learning and encourages individuals across the UK to continue developing their skills, confidence, and career prospects.

At Skills North East, we are passionate about creating real opportunities through education. Our commitment to lifelong learning is reflected in the wide range of training and development programmes we offer—including apprenticeships that help learners both start their careers and enhance existing ones.

Whether someone is just beginning their professional journey or looking to upskill and progress in their current role, we believe that every learning journey has the potential to lead to a fulfilling and sustainable career. Our apprenticeship programmes are designed to support this journey, combining practical experience with professional qualifications to help learners thrive in the workplace.

Michael Winship, Managing Director states:

At Skills North East, we are passionate about empowering individuals through education. Signing this pledge is a reflection of our core values—supporting people to grow, achieve, and build meaningful careers. Apprenticeships are a vital part of that journey, helping learners turn ambition into achievement and education into employment—whether they’re just starting out or looking to take the next step“.

By joining the Get the Nation Learning campaign, we reaffirm our mission to make education accessible, inclusive, and impactful. We are proud to support learners at every stage of life and career, and we remain committed to helping them unlock their full potential.

We invite learners, employers, and community partners to join us in this mission. Together, we can build a culture where learning is lifelong—and careers are built from the journey.
