View coursesHow does an apprenticeship work?
Apprenticeships are a great way to start your chosen career. To become an apprentice you must be over 16 years old, live in England and not in full time education. To complete an apprenticeship you must be employed in a relevant job role. An apprenticeship means you will study to gain job-related skills alongside your paid work. When you complete your apprenticeship you will have the right skills and knowledge for your chosen career.
Who pays for it?
Your employer will receive government support to pay for your apprenticeship. This means you will earn a salary just like any other employee. Apprenticeships are often seen as an alternative debt-free route to become a graduate.
