In their daily work, an employee in this occupation interacts with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. This could include junior colleagues, senior managers, clients and customers, suppliers, lenders, government agencies and auditors. They take a risk-based view of transactions and data to identify key risks and help to mitigate those risks. A typical day could include being in an office overseeing data entry, control account reconciliations and monthly, quarterly, yearly reporting. They may be involved in researching and resolving accounting problems. It is essential that people in this occupation are comfortable using digital tools and keeping up to date with changes in the occupation.

- Technical Knowledge: Apprentices must understand financial accounting and reporting, management accounting principles, and business awareness, including regulatory frameworks and ethical standards.
- Practical Skills: They should be able to prepare and interpret financial information, manage data accurately, use digital tools effectively, and support decision-making through financial analysis.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills are essential for working with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders, including the ability to explain financial information clearly and support team performance.
- Professionalism & Ethics: Apprentices are expected to act with integrity, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to professional codes of conduct and ethical standards.
- Continuous Improvement: They should demonstrate a commitment to personal development, staying current with industry changes, and proactively seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes.

for this course?
The entry requirement for this apprenticeship will be decided by each employer, but may typically be five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or higher.
Some of the requirements may be:
- Typically have five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or higher.
- Have ordinarily been a resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
- Have English and Maths or equivalent at Grade C/4 or higher.
- Level 3 accountancy qualification and/or significant experience at this level.
- Be able to meet the programme modules through their job role.

If the Apprentice is under 19 and your business has less than 50 employees, there will be no cost for the training.
