Qualified personal trainer

Here’s Paul Williams’ story, fully Qualified Personal Trainer… The Perfect Fit PT is two weeks old with 4 signed up clients so far!

Amazing, isn’t it!

Paul would probably say it’s more to do with his hard work and sheer determination. It’s a career he’s always dreamt of. After a spell of feeling unhappy and in a situation of ‘where am I going with my life?’. He looked to the gym as a way of burning energy and clearing his mind.

And that’s when he realised, this is my dream!

After spotting Skills North East on Facebook, Paul decided to enquire about becoming a Qualified Personal Trainer. He needed the Gym Instructing and Personal Training qualification, but most importantly he also needed to become a savvy business owner. Someone who feels confident when approach new clients. This is very different to his current role as baker working early mornings and long days.

Skills North East’s head of fitness Doug, taught Paul at our dedicated gym, and during lockdown the sessions were taught over zoom.

Paul said ‘Doug wants you to do well, he wants you to achieve the dream of becoming your own boss and doing what you love every day. He’s incredibly knowledgeable on the theory side. He has time to explain the more complicated and detailed aspects of fitness. He’s well known in the North East fitness scene and has his finger on the pulse. You feel confident you’re learning from a professional in the industry.’

Paul’s very first client as a Qualified Personal Trainer was his line manager at the bakery. She has been very supportive throughout. Paul reports that she’s doing very well with her nutrition and exercise plans and above all, seeing a positive difference to her body and mind.

He’s not waving goodbye to the bakery just yet. In short he’s building up his Perfect Fit PT clients over the coming summer and will reduce his hours at the bakery.

Very sensible.- Well done Paul!
