Head of Fitness Doug Hunter will be taking 10 people, potentially just like you, through a series of intense courses and workshops designed to kickstart your fitness career.
Skills North East will get you qualified in the essentials of being a Fitness Instructor and Therapist. In fact, this includes the following:
Level 2 Nutrition and Health
Level 3 Gym Instructing and Personal Training
Level 3 Sports Massage Therapy
Instructing in Kettlebells
Instructing in Circuit Training
Instructing in Studio Cycling
These qualifications are a great foundation for your future, additionally, once qualified you can use your skills immediately.
What is more, we will further support you by paying for:
- your first year’s insurance,
- you first year’s membership with Cimpsa, and
- detailed sessions business mentoring and marketing support to guide you in your new venture.
How does this all work?
There is a mixture of theory, practical, mentoring and a bit of hard graft! Furthermore, we will see you in the classroom and gym over the course of 20 weeks.
How is this funded?
This amazing opportunity is funded by various Government funding steams with no capital outlay and be able to attend our sports facilities and or academy.
Important information.
- To qualify for this opportunity, you must be a resident of the North of Tyne Combined Area i.e., be living in a council area of Newcastle, Northumberland or North Tyneside.
AEB Funding
The Level 2 courses are funded by AEB (Adult Education Budget), its principal purpose is to engage adults and provide the skills and learning they need to equip them for work.
To qualify you must.
- be a UK resident and have lived in the UK for 3 years,
- be 19 and over, and
- must live in Newcastle, North Tyneside or Northumberland.
Advanced Learner Loan
The Advanced Learner Loans give individuals access to financial support for tuition costs similar to that available in higher education and are administered by Student Finance England.
- be 19 and over
- the learner must be a UK resident and have lived here for the past 3 years
This is a Government loan, it is a loan, whereby you make repayments when you earn over £27,295
Please NOTE if this is your first Level 3, we may be able to fund one qualification though the AEB funding.
