How does an apprenticeship work?

Apprenticeships are a great way to start your chosen career. To become an apprentice you must be over 16 years old, live in England and not in full time education. To complete an apprenticeship you must be employed in a relevant job role. An apprenticeship means you will study to gain job-related skills alongside your paid work. When you complete your apprenticeship you will have the right skills and knowledge for your chosen career.

Who pays for it?

Your employer will receive government support to pay for your apprenticeship. This means you will earn a salary just like any other employee. Apprenticeships are often seen as an alternative debt-free route to become a graduate.

Method of Learning

Your qualification will involve an 80/20 split, where 80% of your learning will take place on the job and 20% occurs off-site with a personal tutor.

This approach offers significant benefits, providing real-time engagement and hands-on experience, which reinforces your skills in a practical setting. The additional 20% with a personal tutor allows for tailored, bespoke support, addressing your unique needs and challenges, ensuring a comprehensive understanding
